Destructible Environments: Awnings - Zanzibar incorporated windows overlooking the right side of the base. These windows had steel awnings above them that could be shot out, thereby slamming closed the window for the remainder of the game. While this may seem trivial do not be fooled by this small inclusion. By dropping the awnings you effectively eliminate attacks from the high ground and can access the enemy base easier without fear of getting shot from above.

Destructible Environments: Vehicles - As witnessed in the E3 demo Halo 2 vehicles can sustain damage. If a vehicle goes up in smoke it is out for the remainder of that game. While we played, a Warthog near me was still drivable but was beginning to catch fire as flames crept out from beneath the hood. Damage also comes in the form of missing wheels, shot off ghost wings and everyone's favorite that day, the charred remains of a rocket ravaged Warthog.

Smart Rockets - With all the added vehicular combat Bungie stepped up the SPNKr rocket launcher with a tracking device (vehicles only). Spiraling trajectories spice up the rocket launcher's animation and looks fantastic in motion.

Duel Wielding - From back in the Marathon days, duel wielding makes its triumphant return and goes a step further with combo wielding. By enabling the player to mix and match his weapons Halo 2 allows you to get creative on the Slayer front. Sorry, shotguns require two hands and, thus, cannot use this feature.
